I’m Wei-Hao Wu, a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO Reg. #13587) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Before my graduate studies, I worked as a school counsellor for over four years, supporting adolescents, families, and educators through a variety of challenges.
My clinical work is grounded in the NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM®), an advanced therapeutic approach designed to address the long-term effects of developmental and relational trauma. This model focuses on supporting greater connection and agency rather than pathologizing symptoms. I also incorporate attachment theory, somatic psychology, and psychodynamic / psychoanalytic perspectives, integrating mind and body in the healing process.
I often work with people navigating the impact of complex and relational trauma, including challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship patterns. I have a strong interest in working with individuals navigating personality adaptations, including those often described as borderline, narcissistic, or schizoid. My approach is rooted in curiosity and compassion, focusing on how these adaptations developed as survival strategies rather than as flaws or disorders. Together, we work toward expanding capacity for connection, self-understanding, and choice.
As someone with an Asian cultural background and part of the LGBTQ+ community, I bring sensitivity to cultural identity, gender and sexuality, and the unique experiences faced by marginalized communities.
